Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Congratulations to the Norman Pannell Choir who performed as part of a 3000-strong choir at the Echo Arena this afternoon. After months of rehearsals, led by Miss McCallion, the day finally came for the children to shine. It was a fantastic afternoon and an amazing experience for the children and parents watching.

Huge thanks to Miss McCallion for all the hard work in rehearsals and for giving up her Saturday for the children. Thanks also for the support of the families who attended.
Today was the second of two visits to McDonalds for our 100% attenders from the second half of the autumn term. Yesterday, we took 35 children from Reception - Y6, with another 13 children going today. There was a real buzz of excitement and pride, which we hope more and more children will feel as our whole-school attendance rises over the coming weeks and months.
Well done to the children (and their parents) for this great achievement!
Christmas continues to get bigger and better at Norman Pannell. This year, we have enjoyed more events and feedback suggests our three Christmas Nativity Performances have been the best yet. Thank you to the PTA and school staff for the tireless work they have put into all the events, bringing such excitement and pleasure for the school community. We have enjoyed many fantastic events so far this Christmas and yesterday it was the turn of the children and parents to get their creative juices flowing. The School Council, led by Miss Harrison, held the annual Christmas Hat Parade and we had over 50 entries!
Please take a look at all of the entries, modelled by the children who made them on the special Christmas Catwalk, by clicking on the link below:
Last week, 10 children from Y3-6 competed in two teams against other schools at Boccia, a sport similar to bowls and linked to disability sports competitions.
Both of our teams qualified in the top three places initially, then competed very well in the city finals today, narrowly missing play-offs to represent Liverpool in the Merseyside Games.
All 10 children had a fantastic time and represented the school brilliantly; in fact our school was voted by both referees as the school worthy of the 'Respect' award, which we are very proud of. Congratulations to the whole team!
Many thanks to the army of helpers who gave up a full day during half term yesterday, to brighten up the front of the school to provide a warm welcome to children, parents, staff and visitors.
The fences and railings at the front, and on the infant yard were painted by parents, governors, children and school staff using paint kindly donated by local partners.
A lot of work was done in the EYFS garden to remove sharp thorn bushes and create a lighter, more spacious feel. We even discovered a hibernating hedge hog buried in the bushes. Meanwhile, children enjoyed playing on a bouncy castle, racing up and down on scooters and playing football. At lunchtime, we all sat down in the hall for a chippy lunch.
It was a great day, with a wonderful community atmosphere, making a huge impact to our school. We are hoping to organise another similar event when the weather allows and the more helpers we have, the more we can achieve!
Congratulations to all of our children who competed so well in the latest of this season's cross country race at Newsham Park. Today was the biggest team we have had with four boys and seven girls competing!
For most children it was their first race, with 8 children making their cross country debuts.
Many thanks to Miss Harrison and Mrs. Haggerty, plus the parents that made the journey to support the children in such a positive experience for the children!
We are now recruiting for a Lunchtime Supervisory Assistant to join the existing lunchtime team.

We started the last week of the school year with a fabulous day of fun and creativity at Formby Beach today. The weather could not have been better, as every child from Year 1 to Year 6 enjoyed the forest, sand and waves at Freshfields.
Thank you to the PTA for their kind contribution to the travel, helping to keep the costs down for parents and contribute to the children's wonderful experience.
