Y3/4 Colomendy - Day 3 (photos)
Fri 10 Feb 2017All back safe and sound and what a great trip it was! I hope the children are enjoying being back in the warmth and comfort of their own homes ready for a long sleep.

Year 3/4 Colomendy - Day 3
Fri 10 Feb 2017Good morning everyone! I'm pleased to say that all the children had a really good sleep last night, with all dorms asleep by 11pm and not waking until about 7am. Almost all dorms were packed and tidy, bed linen sorted and rooms cleaned by 8am - incredible!
We've had a big cooked breakfast plus toast and cereal and are now finishing off our final activity. Shortly we'll be having lunch and then it's a quick visit to the gift shop before boarding the coach. At present we're on time and are aiming to be back at 2:30pm as planned.
We will put the remaining photos up when we arrive back at school later - these will help the children to remember the experiences and tell you all about them in detail over the weekend - they have been wonderful and a credit to the school. See you soon!

Thu 09 Feb 2017Here's a selection of some of the pics from a very busy day! The children are getting ready for bed now and I'm sure they'll be out like a light tonight.
Tomorrow we've got breakfast, two activities and lunch before hitting the road back to Norman Pannell.

Year 3/4 Colomendy - Day 2 (part 2)
Thu 09 Feb 2017Good evening parents and families!
It's coming towards the end of a long day in which the children have tried out a number of different activities including Nightline, Caving, Problem Solving, Orienteering and more.
Having just had dinner, the children are taking part in one last activity before we go off to the campfire. They're very excited because Mrs. Haggerty has just arrived with a big bag of marshmallows!
They have been on the go all day so we're hoping for a good night's sleep tonight before returning them home to you tomorrow afternoon.
If we can, we will upload more photos from today later. Have a nice evening.

Year 3/4 Colomendy - Day 2 (part 1)
Thu 09 Feb 2017Good morning everybody! The children are waking up, bleary-eyed, looking forward to a big day of exciting activities ahead. Most dormitories were asleep by midnight, but one group of girls (no names mentioned!) were awake until after 2am!
Anyway, here are some more of the photos from Day 1. We'll update Latest News when we can for you later today.

Y3/4 Colomendy Day 1
Wed 08 Feb 2017Greetings from Colomendy!!!
It's Mr. Simpson here from the teacher's room, stealing a few minutes of peace to update you while the children are flopped out on beanbags enjoying a film. Unfortunately we only have a few photos to share tonight due to a connection problem here with the main camera, but we will be able to upload loads more great pictures tomorrow.
The children have had a brilliant first half day here. On arrival, we had the usual amusement of watching the children attempt to put their duvet covers and pillow cases on. We got there in the end and unpacked (clothes and mountains of sweets!!!)
We then had some free time to play out on the field before going in for dinner. The children had a lot to choose from and everyone ate enough, with some making numerous trips to the salad bar. This was all followed by donuts and the children seemed happy!
Back outside, we headed into the forest for a night time activity, with one group doing 'Jungle Vines' while the did 'Balance Beam' nearby. All of the children at least had a go and many surprised themselves, feeling proud of their achievements.
Now the children are enjoying movie night, tucking into more sugary sweets before we attempt to get them to sleep in a while - please wish us luck!
All the children are having a great time so please don't worry, just try to enjoy the peace and quiet!

Y5/6 go to Anfield for Safer Internet Day
Tue 07 Feb 201710 children from Year 5 and 6 went to Anfield Stadium today for a special event on Safer Internet Day. During the event, nearly 300 children from Liverpool primary schools listened to speeches from a police liaison officer followed by ex-Liverpool and Scotland captain, Gary McCallister. We then spent some time considering what to do in a range of difficult situations online, as our children are under increasing pressure to make decisions on social media that could affect their lives and others'.
The theme of Safer Internet Day 2017 is 'Be the Change: Unite for a Better Internet'. A range of excellent information, quizzes and resources can be found by clicking on the Safer Internet Day link below:
