Nursery

In the event of school closure / self isolation

We will be using the website to provide activities and practical work for Nursery children to access if they are to stay at home. In Early Years, learning is done through play and real experiences.

Below is a document providing some ideas for different areas within the EYFS framework:

Welcome to Nursery!

Our Teacher this year is Mrs L Ghader and our Teaching Assistant is Miss Rita.

We have lots of exciting things planned in Nursery this half-term, please check our Twitter feed or pictures on our website. They will be updated regularly.

If you have any questions then please do not hesitate to come in and have a chat with Mrs Ghader or Miss Rita.

Our Curriculum

In Nursery our learning is play based. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum which is split into seven areas.

Communication and Language

Personal, Social and Emotional Development

Physical Development

Mathematics

Literacy

Understanding the World

Expressive Arts and Design

We cover all of these areas through a variety of different play based activities.

We have been enjoying practising writing our numbers, mark making with highlighters pens and using UV torches to look at our patterns, using elastic bands and geo boards to make numbers and develop strength in our fingers and practising positional language with our teddy bears. We have also been having lots of fun outside in our outdoor area.

We have had lots of fun at the beginning of Spring Term exploring our Nursery with activities linked to dragons and castles.

15.11.19- Today we had a fabulous trip to Imagine That. We enjoyed playing in the role play areas. We made bath bombs, fridge magnets and slime.

5.11.19- Today we talked about Bonfire Night Safety. We then used sparklers safely. We wore gloves and held them at arms length.

Week beginning 14.10.19.... We had dance with Miss Jess, our parents came to massage stay and play and looked at our work folders and floor book, we tasted lots of different Indian foods and Sue from Belle Vale Children's Centre came to talk to us about healthy teeth and not eating too much sugar.

Week beginning 7.10.19- This week we had lots of fun doing dance with Miss Jess, learning about healthy teeth and reading the Colour Monster. We then created our own Colour Monster and made cakes to name but a few things....

Week beginning 30.9.19 - This week we have made fruit faces, we labelled a body, we played a game and had to discuss familiar places from the local area and had lots of fun learning lots of different things....

We have been practising writing our letters on our interactive board.

We had a great first week in Nursery. We went on a Phonics walk listening for different sounds and had lots of fun making new friends.
