  • Children in Need Friday 18th November 2016

Sun 13 Nov 2016 Mrs. McMaster

It’s that time of year again! The Children at our school are hoping to raise some money for ‘Children in Need’ and we need your support. This year we want your child/children to dress ‘spotty” and dress up in any of the following: Pudsey t-shirts, ears, something yellow, something spotty or any Children in Need merchandise. We will be asking for a donation of £1.00 per child which will go to ‘Children in Need’.

  • This week, ‘Teddy Bear Hospital Liverpool’ will be visiting the children of Norman Pannell!

Sun 13 Nov 2016 Mrs. McMaster

Teddy Bear Hospital aims to familiarise children in a friendly and fun atmosphere with the consultation atmosphere at a hospital, GP’s surgery or paediatric clinic. Children can bring in their "sick" teddy bear or doll and act as the parent, bearing responsibility for the sick toy. The children will also learn about health and healthy eating, hand washing and a little about the body and different organs. Years 5 and 6 will learn about basic life support and what they should do in an emergency.

Your child can bring a doll or teddy bear into school on the day of their session. Workshops will take place on the following days:
Reception and Year 1 Tuesday 15th November
    Years 3 & 4 Wednesday 16th
    Years 2 & 5 Thursday 17th
    Year 6 Friday 18th

  • Football Team open season in style!

Fri 04 Nov 2016 Mr. Simpson

Many thanks to Danny for coaching the team and organising the fixtures.

  • Head Boy and Head Girl elections 2016

Tue 25 Oct 2016 Mr. Simpson

Last Thursday, a new experience was brought to Norman Pannell, as for the first time, the school held an election for the important positions of Head Boy and Head Girl.  We also voted in a Deputy Head Boy and Girl.

Children from Y6 gave speeches on Wednesday afternoon, and on Thursday voting slips were taken around every child and all of the staff to choose one boy and one girl.  This was a great example of DEMOCRACY at work!

Just before breaking up for half term, we gathered in the hall and the atmosphere was electric as the results of the vote were announced by Mrs. McMaster.

Our new Head Boy and Head Girl will represent the school in lots of ways, not least welcoming the Lord Mayor of Liverpool to Norman Pannell in a couple of weeks.

  • Slow Down for Bobby - Author Visit

Wed 19 Oct 2016 Miss Gold

Yesterday, author Jude Lennon came to visit Norman Pannell...

When Liverpool schoolboy, Bobby Colleran, age 6, was involved in a tragic accident outside his school in 2014, his parents asked author Jude Lennon to write a book to raise awareness about school road safety. Jude wrote a book called "Superbob" which includes all the things that Bobby loved: superheroes, cowboy hats and his green bike! Jude even managed to write Bobby's favourite saying, "I'm fuming!" in the book!

A copy of this book has been left in school for all children to access and learn about road safety; not just for children but also for adults. This is why, near schools, the speed limit is now 20 mph.

Together we can make a difference and our school roads will be safe!

  • Harvest Thanksgiving

Tue 18 Oct 2016 Mrs McMaster

Pupils, parents and staff enjoyed a harvest celebration last Friday at Christ Church. A great deal of hard work went into the children's poems, prayers and wonderful singing and they reflected on what what they were thankful for.

A big thank you to all who kindly donated food for the Liverpool Cathedral Food bank.

  • Run for Fun at Wavertree

Tue 11 Oct 2016 Mr. Simpson

This afternoon, the children from Y2 to Y6 all went to Wavertree Athletics stadium to take part in a huge fun run.  The event was simply to promote healthy, active lifestyles, and to remind children how much fun it is to keep active!

The children and staff had a brilliant time, click on the link below to see all the photos on the P.E. curriculum page:
