We very much hope that your child can come along and enjoy one or more of our clubs with his or her friends.
Dear parents and carers,
As you know, a large-scale housing development is due to start on the green area opposite school, stretching to beyond Netherley shops. We know that this will cause many families disruption for the period of building work, which will be up to 2 years, as it will affect pedestrian routes and eventually parking.
Today, workers have started to erect a fence next to the cars parked opposite the school. I have spoken to the workers, who have said that this will NOT restrict access to the pathways for at least a week, maybe two. Cars are still able to access the parking areas in the usual way at this time. Please take extra care.
Kind regards,
Rob Simpson
Head Teacher

Please see attached an advert from the Local Authority for parents and carers of children with Special Educational Needs and/or Disability on Wednesday 5th July.
Dear Parents and Carers,
The fault in our boiler / water systems has been resolved and school is OPEN again for all year groups on Wednesday 3rd May at the normal times.
We apologise again for any inconvenience that this has caused.
Dear Parents and Carers,
I am writing to inform you that, as things stand, we are unable to open the school site tomorrow for health and safety reasons. We currently have no running water at school due to a fault in the boiler room / water system, which occurred on Friday. So far, we have not been able to have the issue resolved during the bank holiday weekend as expected. I have informed the Local Authority and taken advice - we are not able to safely open the site until this issue has been resolved and running water is restored.
Please make alternative arrangements for looking after your child(ren) tomorrow. If contractors can attend later today or very early tomorrow and solve the problem, we will assess the situation and open to the children whose classes were due to be open: Nursery, Reception, Y1, Y2 and Y6.
We are very sorry for any inconvenience that this causes, but clearly have to take the decision to follow H&S guidance for everybody's wellbeing. I will update you on this matter as soon as possible.
Reminder: due to teacher strike action, Y3, Y4 and Y5 are NOT in school tomorrow, regardless of the safety issue described above.
Yours sincerely,
Mr. R. Simpson
Head Teacher
Dear parents and carers,
Due to significant increases in costs to energy, food, staffing etc. and following a governor review, we will be increasing the costs of some of our services.
We have undertaken market research and believe that, despite our price rise, we remain very competitive (sometimes far cheaper) compared to other local providers, having kept our charges at the same low level for many years. We are confident that our services provide high quality at a very reasonable rate, but as always, would welcome feedback on this.
Please see below:
Increases to Twilight Club and School Dinners will take effect from Tuesday 9th May.
We will soon be launching Parent Pay, which will be the new, more convenient way for parents and carers to pay for any of our services, including the above, school trips etc. Parent Pay is used by many schools and will make communication and tracking of payments much simpler for parents and school. Further details to follow.
We do not wish to raise these costs and appreciate that this could cause difficulties for some families in the current economic climate; however, we are not able to continue to run these services at a loss, therefore have to increase.
The NEU teaching union have announced two further strike days in the next two weeks. Previously, the school has not opened to pupils on these strike days. However, the school will be partially opened on the next two days, please read below carefully as it is different on each day:
Thursday 27th April:
Nursery - Open
Reception - Closed
Year 1 - Open
Year 2 - Open
Year 3 - Closed
Year 4 - Closed
Year 5 - Closed
Year 6 - Open
Tuesday 2nd May:
Nursery - Open
Reception - Open
Year 1 - Open
Year 2 - Open
Year 3 - Closed
Year 4 - Closed
Year 5 - Closed
Year 6 - Open
It is important to point out that this can yet change; if it does, I will inform parents as soon as I have any information, but we wanted to inform parents and carers for your own planning purposes as soon as we could.
