Children from different classes across the school met with two of our governors, Charlie and Martin, this afternoon. They were keen to show off their work from across the curriculum, from Art to History to Geography and PSHE. Our Head and Deputy Head Girls explained their understanding of our school intent statement: 'Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds, Healthy Futures'.
The governors also took on our Boccia team in the hall (and lost!) before listening to Y5 and Y6 singing songs from their upcoming performance of Scrooge. What a great afternoon!
Thank you to Charlie and Martin for giving their time, and congratulations to all the children for their wonderful presentations!
Hi everyone, it's the end of a fantastic first day at Barnstondale and while we attempt to get the last of the children off to sleep (currently 00:55...) we'll post some photos of the fun we've had so far.
Everything is going really well: the children loved the wellie walk up the river and enjoyed lots of free time in the sunshine on the field, adventure playground, games court and sensory garden. Add to that a lovely meal (chicken curry or sausage and mash!), tuck shop and a campfire and that all adds up to a brilliant start to the trip!
We will update during the day on Twitter and will try to post more photos here tomorrow night. Kayaking at West Kirby Marina tomorrow - can't wait!
We are delighted that the school's attendance performance for the second half of the Spring Term was a significant improvement on Spring 1, lifting the overall school attendance for the year so far:
Aut 1: 93.1%
Aut 2: 94.4%
Spr 1: 93.7%
Spr 2: 95.4%
Average attendance for the year so far: 94.2%
Whilst Spring 2's attendance is a big improvement, we need to back this up and further improve in the Summer Term to raise our final attendance figure towards 95% by the end of the school year.
We are grateful to the parents, school staff and School Improvement Liverpool's Primary Attendance Network for the big collective effort made this term. Let's work together again to take Norman Pannell's attendance to new levels of attendance performance in the Summer Term.

I've just got back from a flying visit to see the children at Colomendy. They were all having a great time and had exciting stories to tell me of zip wires, rabbits and adventures in the forest.
Many thanks to the awesome team of staff who are with them, working hard day and night to make the children feel happy, safe and confident as they explore new experiences.
