What a brilliant assembly we had in school to kick off the new week! We were delighted to be joined by two specials guests - Adella Dando (Partnership Development Officer for Liverpool School Sports Partnership) and John Farnworth (CBBC MOTD Kickabout presenter and record breaking football freestyler).

Adella began by presenting the school with the Silver Sainsburys Games Mark Award, which acknowledges our school's commitment to high quality sports coaching and our participation in a wide range of sporting competitions. This has been made possible thanks to the tireless work of P.E. co-ordinator, Miss Harrison.
John Farnworth then took centre stage to demonstrate his world class freestyle tricks, which amazed and astonished all the children, teachers and parents who were in the hall.
Children also received certificates for Playleader Awards, participation in a Y1/2 Gymnastics competition and the Junior Water Polo team! All in all, a wonderful start to the week.
Congratulations to Y6 children Madison and Josh, led brilliantly by Miss Gold, for their performance at the prestigious 'Penny Readings' show at St. George's Hall tonight.
Following Frank Cottrell-Boyce - author and creator of the London Olympics 2012 opening ceremony - the Norman Pannell threesome took to the stage to read an extract from 'The Grinch Who Stole Christmas' by Dr. Suess.
It was a truly magnificent night for the school - a proud moment to see our children and Literacy co-ordinator rubbing shoulders with literary greats.
What a way to start the week! This morning, we took the whole school from Nursery to Year 6 down to the park for the first ever PTA Santa Dash. Every child took part, with the youngest children completing one lap (with the help of Year 6) and the juniors completing two.

The children looked magnificent in a variety of Christmas costumes, and parents joined us to cheer on the children as they sprinted for the finish line.
Children and staff from school took part in a fantastic mass sports activity today called 'Go Run for Fun'. You can see all the photos and video by clicking the link to the PE page below...
