  • Colomendy - Day 2

Thu 07 Feb 2019 Mr. Simpson

I've just got back from a flying visit to see the children at Colomendy.  They were all having a great time and had exciting stories to tell me of zip wires, rabbits and adventures in the forest.

Many thanks to the awesome team of staff who are with them, working hard day and night to make the children feel happy, safe and confident as they explore new experiences.

  • Colomendy - Day 1

Thu 07 Feb 2019 Mr. Simpson

    Good morning parents and families!

The children arrived safely at Colomendy, got settled into their dormitories and headed out for their first activities yesterday afternoon.

The evening activity was 'Film Night' and the children settled down well for the night.  This morning, the children have had breakfast and the teachers are discussing with the Colomendy staff whether a slight change of schedule is needed due to the wet and windy weather.  It is due to improve later in the day, so no need to worry - they'll be having lots of fun!

We will update with more pictures and information later.

  • Colomendy - We have arrived!

Wed 06 Feb 2019 Mrs McMaster
The children have arrived safely and are really excited settling into their cabins. We are just about to start a tour of the grounds. Please sign up to our twitter account (see below) to see photographs and follow what we are up to!
  • Norman Pannell TWITTER is LIVE

Wed 06 Feb 2019 Mr. Simpson

As you may know, we have now launched the school Twitter account: @NormanPannellPS

This will allow us to participate in a range of exciting activities and types of communication that we were previously excluded from.

Some parents have already signed up, but a few have had questions.  You do not need to be a regular Twitter user to enjoy our account and see your child having fun in school.  You can simply download Twitter to your smartphone, laptop, PC etc., make an account (as private as you want) and Follow @NormanPannellPS and your child's class account e.g. @NormanPannellY5.

This will mean that whenever we Tweet, you will receive a notification on your device and enjoy the content.  It's free to use and surprisingly simple.

We would like parents / carers and visitors to 'Like' and/or 'Retweet' our updates, and also to comment with supportive messages for the children or school.  The account is intended as a celebration and comments should only be positive.

Please ensure that you do not post any comments that could be seen as negative, controversial or offensive, as we will be forced to block users in this case.  If you are unhappy or have a question, please contact the school in the usual way as we will not be answering personal questions in the comments attached to posts.

We will be holding a parents' demonstration and information session soon, so please look out for updates.  Finally, it is important that you have signed to give permission for your child's image to be posted on Twitter as we will not be able to include them in some photos unless permission has been granted.

We hope you enjoy joining us on our journey into the exciting world of Twitter!

  • Safer Internet Day at Anfield - Year 5

Wed 06 Feb 2019 Mr. Simpson

The children in Year 5 enjoyed a fantastic afternoon at LFC's Anfield Stadium yesterday for a 'Safer Internet Day 2019' event.

They learnt about 'permission' and 'consent' in relation to the sharing of personal information and images online, as well as making a pledge about their habits when they are using the internet.

We were all very excited to meet Liverpool FC legend Robbie Fowler, who spoke to the children about his career in football and also his experiences as a dad of children growing up in the digital world.

Finally, the children were lucky enough to have a tour of the stadium, sitting in the Kop and learning a bit about the history of the club and stadium.

Many thanks to School Improvement Liverpool and Liverpool Football Club for such a valuable and exciting experience!
