Year 3

Welcome to Year 3!

The class teacher is Miss Lamont.

We have 18 children in our class. Each week home reading diaries and spelling books are sent home. I would encourage you to work in partnership with your child to enhance their reading skills and further develop their reading for pleasure. Alongside these activities I would strongly advise that your child continues to practice their times tables, the link to the school’s rainbow tables is below. Additionally our P.E. sessions take place each week on Monday and Wednesday. Please ensure your child has their full P.E. kit in school on a weekly basis.

I appreciate your continued support and hope that we can work together to ensure that your child is happy in school and reaches their full potential.

Year 3 have really taken a step back into history this week, creating and acting in their own plays using key historical figures in Queen Elizabeth's life.

Philosophy for Children

This week in Class 3 we've been learning about philosophy with Miss Thompson. We've enjoyed creating our own questions and exploring all the different answers.

The pupils have actively engaged within their discussions, disagreeing and providing counter arguments, as well as agreeing and providing further explanations. Throughout it all pupils have remained kind and considerate to one another, reminding each other that everyone's opinion counts and that no one is wrong or right.
