  • Norman Pannell win GOLF tournament

Fri 30 Jun 2017 Mr. Simpson

Is there any sport our children can’t turn their hand to?  Following successes in Badminton and Triathlon this year, as well as cup-winning footballers, a new Year 6 golf team went to Lee Park Golf Club yesterday and finished top of the league of six schools.  As a result, we have been selected to represent Liverpool in the Merseyside School Games at Golf next week.  Congratulations to the children and Miss Harrison!

  • Barnstondale - Day 3

Fri 23 Jun 2017 Mr. Simpson

    Morning everyone!

The children are just packing their bags and tidying their dormitories now as we prepare for coming back to Netherley.  Fortunately, we got MUCH more sleep last night than on the first night, so the children and teachers feel human once again.

We are due to be leaving at 1pm so should be arriving back at school around 2pm.  Parents are welcome to be at school for that time and take their children home early.

It's been a brilliant trip once again - here are a few more new photos of yesterday to keep you going until we get back...

    See you soon,

Mr. Simpson, Miss Harrison, Mrs. Kelly and Miss Mohan.

  • Barnstondale - Day 2 (new photos)

Thu 22 Jun 2017 Mr. Simpson

    Good morning parents,

As promised, here are some of the photos from day 2.

    More to come soon...

  • Barnstondale - Day 2

Thu 22 Jun 2017 Mr. Simpson

Hello everyone!  Well, as the saying goes, sleep is for wimps!  It was an interesting night attempting to get the children asleep following the mountains of sweets the children brought and bought from the tuck shop.  The last dorm fell asleep at around 2am and the first woke up at 4:20am.  Tired doesn't even begin to describe it!

We have had an action packed morning over here on the Wirral, which has included an amazing sailing session on West Kirkby Marina.  Children were in groups of 3 in the sailing boats and used the wind to travel back and forth, covering a huge distance, learning how to navigate across the waves.

Here are the first photos of my group to give you a taster, with more photos to come later...

  • Barnstondale - Day 1 (year 5 & 6)

Wed 21 Jun 2017 Mr. Simpson

Good afternoon parents!  I hope you are enjoying peace and quiet in the sunshine whilst we look after your little darlings!

After arrival at around 11am, we went straight to the forest and the field at the far end of the site. Unexpectedly, we bumped into my old school, Northcote, and had a huge game of football with their children and teachers, as well as playing in the woods, climbing trees and enjoying our picnics.

Having sorted our bedrooms and unpacked, the children are now playing on the adventure playground, exploring the site and hanging out in the beautiful sensory garden.  The children's behaviour so far has been fantastic, particularly in mixing with other schools and making new friends.

We will be having dinner at 5pm followed by tuck shop, games room and finally Camp Fire!  We will try to upload some photos later on.

  • NSPCC Visit

The NSPCC’s Speak Out Stay Safe programme visited our school last week to help us make sure our pupils have the knowledge and understanding they need to stay safe from abuse.
  • Children's University Graduation 2017

Fri 16 Jun 2017 Mr. Simpson

Congratulations to the 58 children from Y1 - Y6 who have achieved an award at Liverpool University's Carnatic Halls this morning.

For the first time, we have had children exceeding the Gold Award, moving up into the Bronze and Silver Ceritificate categories, which celebrates over 100 hours of involvement in our after school clubs.

The Y6 dance troupe - who won an award earlier in the year - performed for the huge audience and the children looked magnificent in their caps and gowns.

Thank you to all the parents who attended.  There are lots of photos on the class pages, but here are a few to capture the magic of a wonderful morning!

  • Young Enterprise

Fri 09 Jun 2017 Mrs McMaster

This week,  Years 4, 5 & 6 took part in a full day Young Enterprise Global Workshop.

The children completed a series of hands-on tasks designed around the theme of global trade which provided an opportunity for pupils to apply skills for learning, life and work.

  • NSPCC charity cake sale

Thu 08 Jun 2017 Mrs McMaster

We will be holding a charity cake sale on Tuesday 13th June at 3:15pm in the infant hall and would be grateful of any donations of home baked or shop bought cakes which our School Council can sell to raise money for the NSPCC.

Any cake donations can be brought into school on the morning of 13th June for the sale that afternoon. Children can bring money into school to buy cakes at the end of the day.
