Welcome to Year 6
Hi and welcome to Year 6's class page! Our Teacher this year is Miss Threadgill and our teaching assistants are Miss Island and Mr Howard.
P.E days are:
Tuesday - Swimming
Wednesday - Basketball
Reading books will be sent home daily and books will be changed on a weekly basis. Children will complete a guided reading session each week with Miss Threadgill.
Homework will be handed out on Fridays and needs to be returned no later than Wednesdays for marking and new homework to be set.
We hope you enjoy looking at our class page which will be updated regularly with photos and examples of work we are doing in class.
Thanks for your continued support.
During our lesson today year 6 made gas masks. Each of the children made one and I think you will agree that they are all fantastic.
Today one of our students, Carson, brought in his great, great uncles WW1 booklet. In it there was a picture of the man and a Bible. The most interesting part of this is that Carson's great, great uncle was shot (you can see the mark on the booklet where the bullet hit the book). However, Carson's great, great uncle smoked like many people did in those days and his tabacco tin saved his life.
Adam has made a fantastic gas mask. Well done Adam!!!
Over the weekend Grace and Rhys produced some lovely work about the war. Grace made a poem while Rhys made a gas mask.
Year 6 cleaning out the reading garden!
Today towards the end of the day Year 6 carried on where gardening club left off. Getting the flower beds ready for winter.
Acting out Private Peaceful
Today Year 6 acted out a part of the scene from the book Private Peaceful.
