SCHOOL CLOSURE - UPDATED FREE SCHOOL MEALS SCHEME

While the schools are closed, the government are providing vouchers for parents of children entitled to Free School Meals.

UPDATED 22.4.20 at 06:30

From Monday 20th April, vouchers will increase to £15 per child per week, and can be used in a range of main supermarkets including Morrisons, Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury etc.

Thank you to all the parents who sent us e-mails or phoned with their addresses last week.  There are issues with the Government's new system, which we are working hard to resolve.  E-vouchers were due to be sent out to parents on Monday 20th April - the majority of parent accounts have or are being processed (34 out of 48) with 8 parents as of 6:30am having completed their voucher order having received the activation e-mail.  Please bear with us while we try to help you to gain access to your voucher.  We will update you further as soon as we can.  We realise this is a huge cause of stress for some parents at this time and we are equally frustrated with the difficulties we are experiencing.

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT WE HAVE YOUR E-MAIL ADDRESS - PLEASE SEND THIS TO US USING THE BOX BELOW, OR PHONE THE SCHOOL SO THAT WE CAN E-MAIL THE VOUCHERS TO YOU.

If you are unable to use e-mail, this makes the process more difficult.  Please phone school to let us know if you cannot use e-mail.  In this case, we would need to print the voucher out and send it to you by post, to be used at a nominated supermarket.  By using the e-mail scheme, you get the voucher code e-mailed to you and you can then generate your own e-voucher online.  Once set up, this will be easier and quicker for you and for school.

Free School Meals - IMPORTANT - parent e-mail addresses needed

We need your e-mail address to make it easy for you to claim and use your e-voucher. If your child(ren) is entitled to Free School Meals, we will generate the £15 weekly voucher and e-mail it to you.

Support from the FOOD BANK

As a school, we are able to make referrals to the food bank at Netherley Youth and Community Initiative (NYCI).  You may be experiencing financial difficulties due to many factors, including issues with benefits or uncertainty over your job.  Whatever the reason is, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us by using the 'Contact Form' on the previous Parent Support page.

If you inform us, we can make a referral and the food bank will supply your family with a food package which also includes some basic household essentials such as toilet paper and hygiene products.
